Once a task is created in our system, it is assigned a 'status' to communicate where things are at.
The following explains what each different task 'status' means. The task owner is the person whose job it is to complete that task. The task target is the person or thing the task is assessing.
Depending on the task type, the status of a task might hinge on the actions of either the task owner (i.e. in an Observation task the person who can complete this task is the Observer themselves, not the task target), or the task target (i.e. a self-assessment task or a YouTube clip step in a pathway requires the task target to complete this step).
- Not Started = the task owner or target has not engaged with the task yet.
- Underway = the task owner or target is still progressing through the task.
- Completed = the task owner or target has finished and/or signed off the task.
- Locked = the task cannot be accessed until the user completes a prerequisite task, or has this signed off on their behalf as required.
- Completing... = the data is being sent to the database and the status will update shortly.
- Overdue = the task has passed the due date. It can still be completed, but it will be marked as 'overdue'.
- Expired = the task has passed the expiry date and can no longer be completed. It will appear as unsuccessful.
Please find some examples of these different task status types below.
