Create a Competency

Competencies are comprised of Skills - they are a way to 'bundle' 'Skills together.

Step 1: Click Performance in left-hand menu.

Step 2: Click the Skills tab at the top of the screen. 

Step 3: Click the green + NEW SKILL button.

Step 4: Enter a name for your Competency.

Step 5: Enter a description for the Competency if required (this is optional).

Step 6: Under Type of skill select Competency.

Note: You will not be able to set an expiration date for a Competency. The expiration of a Competency will be determined by its required badges and any expiration settings assigned to those. The Competency will expire if at least one of its required badges is expiring or expired.

Step 7: Click on + ADD REQUIRED BADGES.

Step 8: Select all the Skills that are required to be achieved before this Competency is awarded. Click OK.

The list of sub-skills will populate with your selections.
